Lottery Announcement

By approximately the end of January of each academic year, Colfax Charter School will produce and make available to the public (at the Colfax charter School office) an application to enter the lottery. The lottery application will include a deadline date – approximately one week prior to the actual scheduled lottery date. The completed application must be received at the Colfax Charter School office.

Lottery applicants are strongly encouraged to hand- deliver their completed applications to the front office during its normal business hours** (7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday).  Fully completed, timely received lottery applications will be divided into 2 groups:  one for siblings of current students and one for students of new families.

A note about falsification of addresses: If it is determined that a parent or guardian provided inaccurate information regarding their place of residence, the student shall not be eligible to participate in the lottery until the conclusion of that semester plus one additional semester.

Family members of students who are participating in the lottery may observe the lottery in person. At some time between the date of the lottery at Colfax Charter School and the opening of the school year, a representative of the administration of Colfax charter School will notify the family of lottery applicants only if admission is available. The number of lottery applicants to be offered admission at Colfax Charter School shall be based upon Colfax Charter School’s enrollment projections for the ensuing academic year.
