Colfax Safety Valet Drop-off

Colfax Has three Safety Valet Drop-off Locations that are clearly marked and are run by dedicated parent volunteers.

Locations are:

1. In front of the main office on Addison Street

2. In the Faculty parking lot on Colfax Avenue

3. In front of the Kindergarten gate on Morella Avenue

Try to leave your house a few minutes earlier in the mornings. Remember we are all trying to get our kids to school at the same time. Arriving slightly earlier will allow you to remain calm and set a positive tone for your child’s day. Don’t forget to say, “goodbye” and “I love you” to your child and smile at the safety valet! The Safety Valets will open the door for your child and assist with exiting the car safely. Please make sure your child is ready to exit as quickly as possible. The school gates are locked promptly at the 8:10 AM bell.

Picking Up Children

The school gates are opened at 2:22 PM. Designate an “after school pick-up” time and place ahead of time with your child. Students are not allowed to answer cell phones without adult permission so you may not be able to reach them as easily. Once students leave the campus they are not allowed to return to the playground.

• Do not have your child wait off campus.
• Do not honk your horn. If you child is not waiting for you, park the car, exit the vehicle and walk over to your child.
• Do not block traffic by double parking or stopping in undesignated areas.
• The Morella Ave. and Addison St. gates are locked at 3:00 PM.
• Please be courteous to other drivers, parents and our neighbors.
